The Great Glass Pumpkin Patch is back and in person! Come pick out your very own handmade blown glass pumpkin at the 14th annual Great Glass Pumpkin Patch! We will have over 1000 glass pumpkins for display and sale spread out on the Monroe County Courthouse lawn like a real pumpkin patch.

All of the pumpkins are made by the members of the Bloomington Creative Glass Center. Rain or shine! Cash, check and credit card accepted.

Come for a sneak peak of the pumpkins that will be featured at the Great Glass Pumpkin Patch October. If you are wanting to do more than just look, any supporter who makes a tax exempt donation of at least $50 may purchase up to two pumpkins at their marked price at the preview. Come check out the pumpkins before the crowds!

How many pumpkins will be at the Pumpkin Patch?

In 2022 we had 1373 pumpkins. We expect to have roughly the same in 2023.

What sorts of payment do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards, but prefer cash or check (this way we do not have to give the bank 3%). We do not accept Apply Pay, Venmo, Paypal, barter, or bitcoin.

Is the Pumpkin Patch first come first served or are their reservations?

The pumpkins are first come, first served. Some people start lining up as early as 7:00am to get first crack at the pumpkins, but if you are in line by 9:00, there will be plenty for you to choose from.

That seems awfully early to get up to get a pumpkin. Is there another way to get a pumpkin?

If you don't want to deal with the line on October 14, we will also have our Great Glass Pumpkin Patch preview on October 7. At the event, folks who make a $50 donation can purchase up to two pumpkins at their regularly marked price. We will have about two thirds of our pumpkins out on display. This event does not have a line and you can arrive at any point.

What happens when you run out of pumpkins?

When we run out of pumpkins the Patch will be over and we will pack up and head home. We will announce on our Facebook page as we are getting close. In 2021 we sold out at 12:30. In 2022 we still had 85 left at 3:00.

I don't want to wait in line, and I don't have $50 to donate (even though it is for a great cause). Is there another way to get a pumpkin?

If you want to skip the line entirely you can volunteer for either the Pumpkin Patch or the Preview. Volunteers are allowed to buy up to two pumpkins at their regular price before the Pumpkin preview opens to the general public.

Many of the artists involved in the Great Glass Pumpkin Patch are happy to take special orders for the pumpkin of your dreams. If you are not able to get a pumpkin at the Pumpkin Patch, email us and we will put you in touch with some.
