12 Days of Holiday Art

Looking to bring a little color and light into your life this holiday season? Check out BCGC's holiday 12 Days of Art! We are offering twelve classes designed to get you in the holiday spirit, no matter what holiday you celebrate. Take a class and make a present for a friend, or maybe something for yourself. Come alone to make someone a special surprise, or bring along a friend or family and make the class into a chance to be creative together. Sign up for one, or two or all twelve!

All glass will be fused onsite and may take 2-7 days to be ready for pickup , depending on the project.

To register for classes please go to our Registration Form. Your place in the class is not guaranteed until payment is received or other payment arrangements have been made.

If a class is full, please sign up for the wait list. If we have enough interest, we will add another session.

More than one person making one project: Because our classroom space is limited, if more than one person wishes to work on the same project, there will be an additional $10 fee. For some classes, we will not be able to accommodate multiple people working on one project.

Picking up finished pieces: Fused glass must be fired before you can take it home. Projects from our fusing classes will usually be available for pickup within a week of the class. Glass must be picked up within 45 days of the glass. Any glass not picked up at that point will become property of BCGC and may be sold in our gallery.

Classes must have at least four students to run. If we have fewer than four students, we reschedule the class in the future and will let registered students know.

Cancellation policy: If you need to cancel, please email us and let us know. If you have to cancel last minute, call or text (812)345-2470.

  • All classes have a non refundable $10 processing fee. We do not offer cash refund if you cancel.
  • Cancellations received prior to 48 hours of the scheduled first class will receive a BCGC credit, good for classes, events, and our gallery. A credit of 50% of class tuition will be issued if cancellation happens within 48 hours of the class.  No credit is issued if you are a no show.
  • If BCGC cancels a class you will be issued a full refund.

Molten Glass Ornaments - Monday, December 4, between 5:00-8:00,

  • Thursday, December 14, between 6:00-9:00
  • Sunday, December 17, between 2:00-5:00

We are offering two options for making your ornament, a blown sphere, or a pressed molten glass disk. Either option will take roughly 10 minutes to make, with one person working at a time. You are welcome to decide which type you would like to make when you arrive. Payment will be taken before the hands on portion, depending on your choice.

  • Blown ornament: You pick the colors and apply it to the molten glass. Then our talented staff will shape the blown ornament for you and apply a hook while you watch.
  • Pressed ornament: You pick the colors and apply it to the molten glass. Then you will press a metal stamp into the molten glass to create your image. 9 holiday themed stamps to choose from.

Ornaments are ready for pick up the following week.

Tuition: $25 for pressed glass, $35 for blown glass/per person

Prerequisite: none. All participants must be 10 or older.

 

Glass Menorah (or Advent candle holder)

Tuesday, November 28, 6:00-8:00 pm

Make a free standing glass menorah and celebrate the festival of lights. Menorahs will be fused and slumped into a wave shape so it can stand up on its own.

Holiday Jewelry

Saturday, December 2nd, 11:00am-1:00 pm- This class is full, please sign up for the wait list on the Registration Form

Using a wide variety of colored and patterned glasses, you will design your own glass pendants or earrings, 2-3 per student, depending on complexity.

  • Class limit: 10 students
  • Ages: 8 and up (children 8-16 must be accompanied by an adult)

Snowflakes!

Monday, December 4th, 6:00-8:00 pm

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! Come sun, snow, rain, or shine, we can make our own snow for winter. We will provide a palate of snow flake pieces, some sample patterns and all the tools you need to make one large or three small fused glass snowflakes.

Festive Holiday Plate

Tuesday, December 5, 6:00-8:00 pm

We all know the holiday's are about the food, right? Step up your food serving game with our fused glass plate class. You will make an 8" square plate that is food safe and dishwasher safe!

  • Ages: 13 and up
  • Tuition: $80

Gingerbread House Ornament

Thursday, December 7, 6:00-7:30 pm

Make a super cute gingerbread house ornament for your tree out of glass.

  • Class limit: 10 students
  • Ages: 8 and up
  • Tuition: $45

Holiday Fusing Fest!

Saturday, December 9, between 1:00-5:00 pm

Make an ornament of your own choosing! We will provide a glass blank for you to decorate any way you want.

  • Ages: 5 and up
  • Tuition: $15-$25 (Depending on size)

 

 

Rustic Holiday Trees 

SESSION 1: Monday, December 11th, 6:00-8:00 pm- This class is full, please sign up for the wait list on the Registration Form

SESSION 2: Tuesday, December 12th, 6:00-8:00 pm

Make a festive forest of free standing trees to decorate your living space. Class includes supplies to make three holiday trees which will be fired and then set into real pine tree disks for that added holiday aroma.

3D Gingerbread House

Decorate your own 3D glass gingerbread with glass "candy" pieces here at BCGC. Glass pieces will be fired and assembled by our BCGC staff and will be ready for pick up in a week.

3-D Lacy Tabletop Tree

Tuesday, December 19, 6:00-8:00 pm

Make your own amazing table top Christmas tree. This tree is made in two sections that ate slotted together once cool. Decorate it any way you like and watch how it catches the light. Trees measure roughly 9" tall.

Wreath Ornament

Thursday, December 21, 6:00-7:30 pm

 Use our beautiful collection of glass pieces to design and make your own wreath ornament.  Ornament base will measure approximately 3" square.
