A new spin on our regular beginning glassblowing class! Explore the magic of molten glass in this beginner-to-intermediate-level glass blowing course! Designed for those with little to no experience or for someone that's already taken our beginning course but doesn't quite feel they're at the intermediate level, this four-week class will guides students through the essential safety practices, tools, and techniques for gathering, shaping, and blowing glass. Each week, we will focus on a new skill while creating a unique seasonal glass piece, incorporating color and form to celebrate the beauty of the year. Week 1 – Spring: Learn how to use glass sculpting tools and add color while creating a stunning glass flower. Week 2 – Summer: Discover the art of adding a bubble and using optic molds to craft a blown glass garden globe, complete with a solar-powered light on a garden stake. Week 3 – Fall: Expand your skills by practicing mold-blown techniques and attaching decorative elements as you create a classic blown glass pumpkin with a stem. Week 4 – Winter: Perfect your finishing techniques with two styles of ornaments—one blown with an attached hook and another pressed—while comparing different shaping methods. This course is a hands-on experience designed to build confidence and creativity in working with hot glass. By the end of the session, students will have a beautiful collection of seasonal glass art and a solid foundation in the fundamentals of glass blowing. No prior experience is necessary—just a sense of curiosity and a willingness to try something new! Each class will include roughly one hour of instruction and two hours of practice time. Missed classes: Because of the cost involved in running this class, we are unable to offer make-up sessions for missed classes. We are happy to offer a private lesson at our regular rate if you need a make up session. Ages: 14+ Tuition includes class fee and personal protective gear. Please note: participants will be required to wear 'natural fiber clothing' when glassblowing. Cotton t-shirts, jeans, etc. are recommended. Absolutely no leggings.
